While reading through the tweets on the chat about the book Teach like a Pirate, I noticed a tweet that had to do with creating engaging lessons. This teacher had the students reenact the Lost Colony of Roanoke and videoed it instead of having the students sit and listen to him lecture. By doing this the students were more engaged in what they were learning rather than bored and not paying attention. I would love to be able to incorporate this into my classroom someday. Students prefer to get up and moving and having them reenact a historical event is a way to get them up and learning! Also, if it is videoed, the students may take it more seriously and really do their best.

Updated from my cellphone. It's finally fall! The weather is finally getting chillier. Also, I officially bought by first gallon of apple cider! Do you guys prefer to drink it hot or cold?
Personal Learning Network is a personal account for the teacher in order to connect with other educators. Not only are they connecting with other educators, but more specifically they are connecting with those with common interests. It is a way to communicate and share ideas.
